June just keeps getting more exciting!
Bryan and I decided to complete the Bear Lake Trifecta. Three half marathons in three days. Each half marathon takes place in a different state- Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming. Remember how we just finished a half marathon in Hawaii?? Well that makes four 1/2 marathons in 7 days!
Idaho's race was a little tough because we weren't expecting hills and had just drove in from the airport that morning! We literally got about 2-4 hours of sleep before running. We parked at the race site and slept in the car.
Wyoming's race was a slight hill until the halfway point and then turn around. We were feeling okay at this point. But then we got home and both of our ankles swelled up. Mine was from a tweak at the start of the Wyoming race. Bryan's was from an ATV accident you will hear about in a minute.
Utah's race was the worst. We were not prepared for the hills or the trail running. Some people even got lost! The best part of the last race was having all our family cheer us on at the end. I don't think Bryan or I have ever had cheerleaders for any of our races :)
Bryan won a couple of the age divisions and overall race times. He did amazing! Especially if you consider his hurt ankle. I did good as well, placing age groups in all of the events. It was definitely one of the hardest things I have done in a while.

After our first 1/2 marathon, my dad and Bryan set out to go use the ATV for the first time. I decided to take a nap. I woke up to Bryan yelling at me that my dad could really use my help. Being drowsy and our of sorts, I was so angry with him yelling at me for no good reason. And then I saw my dads face! Apparently they were going up a pretty steep hill, hit a rock, and the ATV back flipped onto them. Both are very lucky to be alive! They didn't even have helmets on! My dad had to go to the ER to get stitches on his jawline. Bryan didn't realize his ankle hurt until after the second 1/2 marathon.
The grandkids wrote "get well" letters for grandpa while he was at the hospital.
We hiked Limber Pine Nature Trail after the second 1/2 marathon. Don't worry! It was only one mile. We stopped often and walked the pace of my mother. Ha!
Of course we tried the famous raspberry shakes at Bear Lake!
We went up to the north beach to enjoy the water after the last 1/2 marathon. The water wasn't as cold as we had expected, but felt very nice for our swollen ankles.
Bryan left for Texas after our trip to Bear Lake. He headed back to finish up some last minute house projects, work, and packing. I stayed back in Utah and kept the children happy. Basically, Bryan worked and I played!
In the back yard at Rachel's house
We got my dad a helmet for Father's day!
We played at a couple splash pads in the area.
Hike some more.
