March 2020

 Spring Break 2020
Taos, New Mexico

Bryan and I got 3 glorious days of skiing to ourselves.
Kate and Jane did two days of ski school.  Kate did great.  Jane survived.

Kate lost another tooth. She is really good at loosing them in different states.  I think she lost one in Oklahoma, Arizona, Texas, and now New Mexico.
The mountains are my happy place.
A bridge above the Rio Grande.
Taking a bath in a hot spring on the Rio Grande river.

And then COVID-19 happened on March 13, 2020.  Social distancing began March 19, 2020.  Stay at home orders March 23, 2020. No school until April 7 or possibly all year.  I became a school teacher for a pre-K and 1st grader.  I also had school of my own.  In fact, I was completing a project with the emergency department with my hospital.  The rest of the month was really difficult.  It is a good thing we had fun at the beginning of the month.
2000 piece puzzle completed.
It's a good thing we bought the essentials before the grocery stores shelves were empty.
I took the girls for some hikes at Dana Peak park because it is a social distancing activity that gets all of us out of the house.  This particular day was St. Patrick's Day.
Jane attempting to Zoom with her dance class.  The first week was pretty rough.
I have gotten pretty good with coming up with ideas to keep the girls minds enlightened.  This is the milk, food coloring, and dish soap experiment.

Happy Birthday Kate! 7 years old!!

Kate requested a unicorn birthday with a couple of her friends at the house.  I was down with that idea.  I hate planning birthday parties.  You never know who is actually going to come.
 Kate's favorite present: roller skates.
The girls (Kaylie, Emily, Libby, Kate, and Jane) painted unicorns.

Opening presents. Kate got LOLs, dress-up and accessories, Elsa and water horse, roller skates,  remote control Jeep, walkie-talkies, and a swimsuit.

Kate is a very energetic child.  She loves to sing and make noise and talks really loud.  She can often be found helping me cook or mothering Jane while I try to get some housework done.  She started taking piano this year and is doing very well.  Ballet is her jam too.  She has the perfect little figure for the sport.  Kate loves art, science, and math.  She hates reading and has an excellent memory.

February 2020

Jane created this cute cactus picture with colored rice.
Jane went to the Belton County Fair with her little friends from school.  She watched the rodeo and pet some animals.
Bryan took these girls to a daddy daughter dance.  Emily was invited as well (daddy's deployed).
 Happy Valentines Day!

I got the girls fun woodland animal blankets. Kate got an owl.
 Jane got a bunny.
Bike riding around the block with Jane...
while Kate learns to roller skate.
A science project in Jane's pre-K class.
Jane loves to climb anything these days.
A fun music workshop for Kate with Mrs. Christie.

December 2019

Jane was awarded the Super Star for the month of December.  I love her stance, she is so proud of herself.
We visited my best friend in Louisiana. I had the best time and she had so much planned for out short stay.  Can't wait to see you again Jennifer! (All our races got cancelled because of COVID-19, so I don't know when we will see each other again. Plus, Texas makes those from LA quarantine for 14 days!)
