A while back, Bryan told me he had the opportunity to go to Honduras and perform eye exams in a rural village located in the jungles of Honduras. I thought it would be a great opportunity- a service mission. Since Bryan's mission, he has always dreamed of doing medical service in a poor community in South America. He met some optometrists down in Argentina giving glasses, performing surgery, and giving medical assistance to the needy. Giving sight to those who can not see, inspired him. It was then, he knew he wanted to go into optometry. I as well would love this sort of opportunity to help out around the world... Anyways, I wanted to come along, but couldn't get off 8 work days. So he is headed down to Central America May 2 -10. Then he will be moving up to Killeen with me for the summer and working at my hospital's Optometry Clinic on active duty orders for 45 days. We will be able to take lunch together! I am soo excited!!
My mom suggested I come out to Utah and visit family, especially my grandparents, while Bryan's gone. It has been more than a year since I've been "home". So, while Bryan's having fun vacationing in Honduras, I am going to Utah and playing with my parents/family for a short 4 day weekend!
