Colorado Bend State Park

Now that Bryan and I are able to hang out everyday I am not working, we are trying to visit all the parks and recreational areas we can while we are still in Texas. Colorado Bend State Park is in Texas. You just have to drive through private property to get there. The signs just tell you to stay in your vehicle while driving to the park.
Our first hike was to Gorman Falls, a beautiful waterfall oasis thing in the middle of hill country Texas...crazy!

Our second hike was up Gorman Spring. Bryan pushed me in the water because I actually wore water shoes (he forgot). There were crawdads in the spring which scared me at first.
Our third hike was much longer up a travertine creek and then back down. This is a beautiful hike with pools of water to dip your feet into. If we ever go to this park again, a bike would be a plus.

Tahlaquah, Oklahoma

Bryan finished his last day of clinic ever on April 13, 2012.  I drove up to Oklahoma to pick him up because we sold our truck and motorcycle earlier this year. So glad we are done with this commuting back and forth from city to city to see one another. These last 4 months went by fairly quick due to my traveling around with the Army and Bryan studying for boards.
These are some of Bryan's friends that did their internship up in Tahlaquah at Northeastern State University. Left to Right: Bryan, Matt, Sophia, David, and Stephen (John was unable to make it for the photo)
After we packed up Bryan's things, we headed to Owasso, Oklahoma to spend some time with Bryan's parents and just hang out. Bryan joined one of Tulsa's soccer leagues while he was there and I was able to attend 2 of his games. He is actually a decent soccer player, mostly because he is so fast and intimidating!
While we visited with Bryan's parents, we were able to help them move furniture and prepare for a 3 days garage sale.  They sold their current house and are moving down the street.  We made lots of money selling all of the "collectibles" Debbie kept over the years!
On our off time, we went on a few runs with Marinero, Bryan's mother's chocolate lab.
We also went canoeing down the Illinois River. Lots of people float down the river on inner tubes. We saw some of the largest fish I have ever seen- practically my size! I really wish that we would have brought fishing poles because we would have been bound to catch a fish!

Sewing

One of my goals this year is to learn how to sew. I want to complete 8 projects by the end of the year. I started out with an easy church bag. I didn't realize how small measurements were and so it is a little too small to be a good church bag (it really only fits my primary piano book). My next endeavor was a skirt. I saw it on pinterest and had to complete it. This one involved pleats and a zipper!
Don't mind me, it's pretty late at night...
Nailed it?
