February 2023

February was a busy month! I'm pretty sure we had something going on every weekend.

Kate with her friends Eloise and Rhealynn at school.

We got snow, finally! Pretty sure this was on a Thursday and I had to be at work. None of the weather channels forecasted this, so it was quite a surprise! Thank goodness the whole base shut down, because the hospitals don't close for anything.

It's been a while since I've made a cheesecake. I made this for Bryan for Valentines. I love him and he loves cheesecake.

School was cancelled for ice on Kate's birthday. Luckily, all our neighbors were able to walk over to our house and celebrate on a whim! She felt loved. (Funny side note: Howie got sprayed by a skunk the night before and came into the house- so it was stinky- we had the windows opened all night and fans to get the stink out before her party. No one noticed the stink!)

Eloise gave her a squishmellow. Mia gave her money. Caroline gave her St. Patrick's hair accessories. Saralain and Callie gave her American Girl books. Kate was grateful for all that were able to come, especially given the ice storm circumstances that made her party a little tricky. Seems like her birthday has involved a snow storm or ice storm over the last 2-3 years.

One of her favorite gifts from grandma and grandpa Koplin.

For President's weekend, we drove to Colorado to ski Keystone. We found the ice castle, ice bar, and ice playground on top of one of the main lifts.

While we were away for the weekend, we had Howie boarded and neutered. We, or maybe I, didn't want to deal with coordinating studding Howie OR dealing with boarding shelters that do not allow dogs that are unneutered.

Dates with the girls continues. Kate and I went to get a pedicure. Bryan and Jane went to an arcade in downtown Leavenworth.

Disney on Ice. We've gone to one previously in Dallas and the girls loved it. Thank goodness the production changes each year.

We took our family picture for the CGSC yearbook.

February 2019

I can't believe how quickly February came!  Bryan and I have been busy with work, our kids, and prepping the interior of our house for painting.  In the mean time, we also...
...shopped for new cowboy boots at Cavender's.  Jane wanted a pair too, but I told her this was a present for Kate because she is turning 6 soon.  We actually ended up getting a pair of boots from Walmart for a lot cheaper, and Kate seemed even more happy about them.

We dressed up as a little, old lady for the hundredth day of school.

We got all dressed up for a daddy-daughter Royal Ball at the YMCA.  The girls were so excited about wearing make-up and getting their nails painted.  Lots of accessories too!

The girls made fancy Valentine boxes for school.  Kate made hers at school.  I actually made Jane's because we found out about it 2 days before Valentines Day.  And unfortunately, she didn't have time to complete the box.  So I stayed up late completing my daughters work.  Didn't think that would happen at such an early age!  She did draw on it in the morning.  And she did like what I created.  That is all that matters, right?

The girls got lots of candy, toys, and stickers/tattoos for Valentines Day.

I took Bryan shooting at The Gun Range for Valentines Day.  We shot at hearts! How romantic.

Kate turned 6 years old! We had a party at Chuck E Cheese.  She told me it was "the best birthday ever!"

BUSY FEBRUARY

We have been working really hard on the house.  Painting trim, painting window seals, and painting shutters and the garage door.
Bryan went on a 100 mile bike ride around South Padre Island.  It was pretty windy and he came back sun burned.  Finished in about 6 hours.

 My cute little Valentine's.
Bryan took the girls to a Princess Ball one weekend.  Way better than going to Disney.  They got one on one time with each of the princesses and didn't have to wait in 2 hour lines.  Jane LOVES Moana.  Kate LOVES Ariel and Rapunzel.

Grandma Koplin got the girls a popcorn popper.  They love watching the popcorn and melting the butter for our weekly Friday night movies.
Bryan's Valentine gift- a chocolate hand gun!

Bryan made the girls a bunk bed.  It is so awesome! The girls love it.
For Kate's 5th birthday weekend, we went to South Padre Island and enjoyed some pool time, beach time, and relaxation.  It was a little cold and cloudy, but we had a heated outdoor pool and everything was all good.

 Pink cereal for Valentine's Day.
I took the girls to the Rodeo and Stock Show.  I am pretty sure their favorite part was watching the little chickens run around the cage.
Kate had a Little Mermaid birthday party with friends.  She got a cute Little Mermaid shirt from Jane, an easy bake oven from Grandma and Grandpa Koplin, a microphone/swimsuit/clothes/
climbing rope from mom and dad.

My Valentine from Bryan.  It reads "Lets Bang".  It's made out of bullets.  So fun!
