Florida Keys 2019

We took a family vacation to the beach this year.  Or so we (I) thought there would be a beach.  It turns out, the Florida Keys has mostly man made beaches.  Beautiful water, but not beaches.  Oh well. We had fun either way.

We both went scuba diving on different days.  The visibility was poor both days due to the storm coming through the Gulf of Mexico.  I would not recommend the scuba diving company we went through. We didn't even have a guide.  They just drop you off and tell you to head a certain direction or not go deeper than a certain amount.  We definitely don't dive enough to feel comfortable on our own.  At least, that's how I felt.  

 One of the man made beaches.  Our girls mostly enjoyed the swimming pool at our hotel.  I agree.  It was pretty nice.  But this picture makes the beaches look fabulous, doesn't it?  

 Kate wanted to get a key lime pie in the face from Kermit.  Great store.  Great owner.

We went to an alligator farm in the Everglades.

My girls were not fearful when it came to holding snakes and alligators. 

We also took an air boat tour through the Everglades.

My girls were asked to pull a snake out of a bag.  I don't think I'd have the guts to do that!

We made our way to a cute fruit stand called "Robert is Here".  Lots of cool fruit and great smoothies.
